Calm down, guys! Mega Man designer Keiji Inafune only pushed out the Kickstarter for At $1.2 million, the first of many stretch goals has already been hit, guaranteeing an additional two stages to the six originally planned. The next goal, at 1.35 million, will secure Mac and Linux support on top of the currently announced Windows version. With 28 days left, this one looks set to take in a significant amount of money. Are you a car? If so, firstly, thanks for reading. I'm not sure how you're doing it, but it's appreciated. Secondly, you might want to steer clear of the site today, because there's an unusually heavy amount of news featuring twisted frames and crunching bodywork. Not only is a Destruction Derby type game being crowdfunded, but also Codemasters are today releasing the free Demolition Derby mode for Grid 2. The update adds the Detroit Demolition Derby Stadium, and the Jupiter Eagle Ray Mk 5 Demo Derby car to throw around it. It follows the recently released community patch, which brought a new Hardcore playlist, an updated online level cap, and mod support. Sorry about that, cars. And whatever you do to escape the horrific images of your mutilated brethren, definitely don't go looking at the soft body destruct-'em-up BeamNG. Space Hulk: Deathwing announced; is a first-person shooter g21

The floodgates have opened, and Warhammer licences are swarming through the industry like Tyranids. We've already breached one Space Hulk, but now another has been sighted on the long-range scanners. Space Hulk: Deathwing has just just been announced; turning the tactical board game experience into an Unreal Engine 4-based first-person shooter from the makers of the bizarre and impenetrable E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy. Weird, right? Maybe the announcement teaser vid can clarify a few things. Nope! Maybe the press release can enlighten us: "Players take on the role of a Space Marine from one of the most secret and most feared Space Marine Companies: the Deathwing from the Dark Angels. Strap on your Terminator armour and equip the emblematic weaponry of the Space Marines to overcome the threats awaiting you in the Space Hulk." Nope! The website? You guessed it… No word yet on platforms or release dates. Or much else, for that matter. Speculate away! FlatOut devs’ Next Car Game crowdfunds digital carnage g21

Bugbear Entertainment have briefly popped their head out of the development garage to offer an update on their next car game, Next Car Game. That update, to paraphrase, is: "can we have some money, please?" As you'll see from their pitch, the former FlatOut devs have broken out the standard template, comprised of: 1) the announcement of a crowdfunding scheme, 2) the comparison to older games, and 3) the declaration that publishers are rubbish and smelly. Again, I'm paraphrasing. Check out their video to see those concepts more tactfully put, as well as some pleasing footage of crumpling cars. Bugbear are taking pre-order pledges through their own website, starting at $25 for the cheapest "just the game" tier. There's no funding goal for pledges, so no limit to be hit before customers' money is taken. The site is counting up to 10,000 pre-orders, at which point a "playable sneak peek" will be released to all backers. As for the possibility of Kickstarter, Bugbear say, "it turned out to be tricky for non-US-citizens, and Finnish law prohibits raising money for commercial purposes. We still wanted to show everything we've got right now, so we chose to set up our own pre-order site immediately!" "If you're thinking of holding off purchasing until the possible, speculative Kickstarter – please don't! We're sure we'll make it worth to you to jump onboard immediately." Total War: Rome 2 trailer celebrates the betrayal of Caesar, the launch of the game g21

Et tu, CA? In a tradition dating back to roughly 44 BC, the developers of Total War: Rome 2 are celebrating the launch of their game with a trailer. If you can tear your eyes away from the sight of Steam downloading, unlocking, or perhaps even playing their latest strategy lasagne*, spare some time for a CGI retelling of ancient history. As with all of history, everybody dies. If you'd prefer to see some footage of the game as she is played, you can do that too. The game is now available as a Steamworks package, for £29.99/$59.95. Should you get it? Tom Senior's review revealed a game with some AI oddities, that nevertheless offered the series' best empire management and land-battles. *Because it's layered, see?
